About

A musical performance based on traditional songs from Greece and Cyprus starring death in its cruelest version. Stories of our country. Blood-stained stories. Stories of shame!

Shame can characterize memories that our brain wishes to erase. The “shameful” moments will hide between the multiple layers of history. Traditional songs and more specifically “paraloges” are full of urban myths with shame as their central plot.

Natalia Lampadaki, after studying traditional song and researching about it, comes to KET for every Thursday of February, with a special group of musicians:

Christos Kalkanis: clarinet & saxophone
Vassilis Mantzoukis: drums
Lambros Papanikolaou: contrabass
Stavros Roumeliotis: electric guitar

Yiannis Tavoularis: sound engineer

Stavros Roumeliotis’s contemporary covers and orchestrations, combined with Olga Sfetsa’s unique digital scenery/video-mapping and the direction of Haris Pechlivanidis, transform the urban myths of traditional songwriting and bring them to today, introducing a different version of who is the victim and who is the perpetrator.
