About

French musician Alexis Paul tours Athens and Anafi for the first time with his project “SAUDAÁ GROUP / Orgue-Paysage”. At his concert at KET, he will be accompanied by local musicians Panagiotis Kanellopoulos, Tim Ward and Dora Panagopoulou, who released the album “Mishearings” at Alexis’s label Armures Provisoires in Paris. The concert will begin with solo sets and will end with group improvisation.

SAUDAÁ GROUP, or literally “The Black Bile Group” or “The Melancholy Group”, is the name given to the nomadic and poetic adventure led by French musician Alexis Paul since 2014, focused around a portable, mechanical and wind musical instrument: the street organ. Searching for new and innovative ideas, Saudaá Group fuses electronic music, repetitive textures, contemporary composition and a folk repertoire in solo as well as group performances. Behind the concept of Orgue-Paysage is a multifaceted project inspired by the cultural heritage of the street organ, which consists of gathering the imagery and inspiration from popular cultures, exploring them, and extracting the most beautiful aspects with a contemporary and collaborative perspective. For his concert in Athens, Alexis’ set won’t include the heavy organ but an electro-acoustic alternative allowing him to move more easily.
