About

Dimos Vryzas visits KET on the 21st of February for a solo set of free improvisation, due to the forthcoming release of the album “Really Short and Tonal” by the Portuguese record label Creative Sources.

Experimental music and free improvisation are at the core of his work. He has collaborated in recent years with leading names in the improvisational scene, such as Fred Frith, Alfred Zimmerlin, Harald Kimmig and more. The violin is the main source of sound in his music performances. He has a wide range of influences, from classical and traditional music to rock, noise and ambient. Dimos Vryzas explores the sound limits of the violin, experimenting with acoustic/electronic contrast and with new ways of music expression. In recent years he has traveled, recorded and performed live with many important musicians in Greece, Switzerland, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany and elsewhere.
