Three Times Three #8

Curated by Spyros Polychronopoulos (Spyweirdos), the monthly series “Three Times Three” brings together artists from the fields of contemporary dance and experimental music.

Each time, three musicians meet three dancers. At the start of the evening, three random pairs are selected by lottery, and they improvise for 15 minutes. The evening concludes with a 30-minute collective improvisation.

🔷 Eftychia Stefanou

A dancer and graduate of the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, she collaborates with Alexandra Waierstall, Mario Banushi, and Needcompany. She explores the boundaries between contemporary dance, physical theater, and performance, with an emphasis on improvisation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

🔷 Polina Chrysafi

A dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher, as well as the founder and coordinator of Tanzterrain, she focuses on improvisation. She actively participates in festivals and events (Impro Shots, Raw Dancing Multiverse, Agile Experiments…), while co-organizing open-stage platforms and workshops on live composition. A significant milestone in her career was her collaboration with multimedia artist Katie Duck.

🔷 Loukia Konidari

A dancer and choreographer, and a graduate of the Rallou Manou School of Dance, she works in the fields of dance and theater with various groups and choreographers (Aliki Kazouri, Margarita Trikka, Irida Nikolaou…). She is a founding member of the newly established “Freno” theater.

🔷 Angelos Mastrantonis

He studied composition at the Ionian University and the University of Edinburgh. He is a member of the bands Spooky Redrum and Deathbed.

🔷 George Gargalas

A composer and performer, he has composed music for contemporary dance, theater, and film. Through his live sets, he explores new timbres and rhythmic structures, using the voice and acoustic instruments as raw materials, which are transformed live through modular synths and live electronics.

🔷 Yiannis Despotakis

A drummer and percussionist, he has studied tabla with Satnam Ghai and Nihat Yersaloglu, drums with Nikos Kapilidis, and guitar with Kostas Mouzis. He has been collaborating with Hayden Chisholm since 2009. Since 2013, he has been playing with Døn Stavrinos in Meating for Business.
