Two sets of improvised, electronic, and acoustic music by Mélodie Blaison Blaison (France) and Echo Canyon (Greece).
🔷 Breathing, voice, listening, care, storytelling… If ecofeminism was a sound, it would surely be that of the compositions, improvisations, and soundscapes of the French artist Mélodie Blaison.
She was born in 1992 in Avignon (France). She studied flute at the Conservatory, graduated in 2016 from the School of Fine Arts in Nantes, and continued her studies as part of the “Arts & Sound Creation” master’s program at ENSA (Bourges).
Her work explores breath, voice and sonic material through a hybrid practice combining flute, ceramic instruments, field recordings and electronics. Engaging with and transforming classical traditions, she creates immersive performances where composition and improvisation intersect.
Her approach focuses on texture, gesture and listening as a shared, transformative experience. Her second album Avant le Rivage (2024, Wabi Sabi Tapes) unfolds airy soundscapes blending organic resonance and electronic layers.
For this concert at KET in Athens, Mélodie Blaison presents a programme blending improvisation with pieces from her forthcoming album. Inspired in part by the writings of Adrienne Rich, the performance weaves together breath, voice and intimate soundscapes.
She has presented her work in many European cities. She is based in Brussels.

🔷 Submerged rhythms, low pressure, gradual shifts: under the moniker Echo Canyon, Athens-based producer and sound artist Dimitris Patsaros fuses elements of jungle, ambient, electro, dancehall, dub and kraut rock into a style that feels uniquely his own.
Echo Canyon materialises abstract dance structures while casting polyrhythmic spells through field recordings and noise soundscapes upon a dissolving and uncertain dance floor. He draws from the visceral charge of punk, the physicality of low-end pressure, and the sculptural potential of sound to shape performances that dissolve boundaries.
