About

Two duets featuring improvisational, electronic, and acoustic sounds by Sebastian Boulter & Teemu Takatalo (Finland) and Nefeli Stam & Athina Kanela (Greece).

🔷 Based on structural improvisation Sebastian Boulter and Teemu Takatalo interprets rather eerie carrousel music with prepared piano and vibraphone. Boulter released his first solo album “Carrousel” in 2024 (Mutual Sound Studios, Athens). Takatalo has mixed the album and since the release this duo has been performing with this concept in several events in Athens.

Sebastian Boulter and Teemu Takatalo are Athens based artists. Their work includes fine arts and music. Boulter and Takatalo are members of Mutual Sound Studios collective. Both have composed music for different ensembles, contemporary dancing groups, circus, theater and cinema.

🔷 Two bodies. An object that weighs heavily without being seen. Double bass, electronic sound, stage action, and imagery coexist in an act of extreme intensity. The possession of a weapon is not shown; it is implied, displaced, transformed into sound. Time expands. Waiting becomes an event. A one-and-only performance.

Composer, researcher, performer, and improviser Nefeli Stam (Nefeli Stamatogiannopoulou) lives in Athens. Her work combines contemporary musical techniques, electronic media, visual arts, and physical movement, with an emphasis on creating original works and performances. She has presented her work at festivals and has composed music for theater and film.

Athina Kanela (Athina Kanellopoulou) is a multimedia visual artist active internationally. Her work includes performances, installations, video, and drawing, exploring themes such as space, identity, and human relationships. She studied at Middlesex University, the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASKT), and Université Paris 8. She has participated in international exhibitions and biennials and frequently invites the public to actively participate in her works.
