Simon Pomery, aka Blood Music (Ireland): Skin String Sine
Irish composer Simon Pomery will perform music from his latest album, Skin String Sine (The Tapeworm, 2025), as well as new material.
On Skin String Sine, Pomery found his ‘figures’, a term he uses to describe the blend of musical hook with muscle memory.
Skin String Sine originates in the happiness of Pomery listening and being with his people at clubs, at turf sheds, at the beaches, at the outer reaches. It was written and recorded at Blood Music Studios, and finished up at EMS, Stockholm, where Pomery was Halldorophone-Composer-in-Residence.
KET is already linked to the progress of this composition. After playing one iteration of ‘A String Stretched…’ at KET, Athens, audience members approached Pomery while touching their chests and speaking about the effects of the sounds on their hearts. This performance marked Pomery’s shift from Blood Music to ‘heart music’, exploring the effects of harmonics on the listener.
The name of the first piece ‘A String Stretched Between Stars and We Pluck It’ has origins in a poem Pomery wrote called ‘To an Innocent Prisoner’, written during the UK/USA aggressions against Middle Eastern peoples in the years 2003-2010.
The audiovisual part of his performance is a collaboration between Simon’s text-films and Pat Grimm’s analogue water films.
◍ Blood Music was founded in a coldwater flat in Newington Green in 2011 via the following equation: Sonic Youth X Suicide % Panasonic = BLOOD MUSIC. Sighman doth played festivals and clubs including Berlin Atonal, Cafe Oto, Iklectik, Ochiai Soup, Club Stomp, Elevate, Incubate, Les Urbaines. Sighman is an Irish-English ear. He has released records on The Wormhole, The Tapeworm, Superpang, and Diagonal. Sighman is a multi-instrumentalist and producer. He makes music for the veins, vitality, uterus, and vagus nerve. He lives and works in London.

Giannis Arapis (Greece): solo set
◍ Giannis Arapis is a guitarist and a composer based in Athens, Greece who performs, composes and improvises experimental rock and jazz music. His main purpose is to help establish the electric guitar as a melodic voice in avant-garde music.
He has played and recorded with Noël Akchoté, Mats Gustafsson, Mariam Rezaei, Hilary Jeffery, Jan Klare, Eva Lindal and Johan Berthling among others.
Some of his record releases are in labels such as: Clean Feed (Ahanes-Petrichor 2022), Shhpuma (The Coal-Recorded remembered 2023), Ramble Records (vasilaraps – 4 kamineti four duo guitar 2021), Thanatosis (VO – The sounds of VO 2022).
