THE DAMAGE WAS TERRIFIC
Maria Kritsotaki (voice), Vassilis Tzavaras (guitar, loops) and Yiannis Iliakis (drums, percussion) present at the KET the performance THE DAMAGE WAS TERRIFIC. The three musicians will redesign their original music directions on the basis of free improvisation. They first met on stage just over a year ago along with Miriam den Boer. After some successful performances, they recorded their first album, which is expected to be released in 2020.
“Until the mid-17th century the word “terrific” (adjectiveter · rif · ic | \ tə-ˈri-fik \) was synonymous with the word horrific, which means scary. The first writings where the word seems to lose its negative connotation are found at the beginning of the 19th century. Today this word has a very positive meaning, and in greek it is translated as “wonderful”. THE DAMAGE WAS TERRIFIC: Oxymoron? In a reality where everything can be translated in many ways, can a seemingly damaged structure be beautiful or cause some satisfaction?”
