About

For the first time, the two experimental musicians Spyros Polychronopoulos aka Spyweirdos (electronics) and Michalis Moschoutis (guitar) will perform together at KET. Intense sound alternations based on purely electronic and electric sounds that conversate with field recordings. Spyros and Michalis invite Thanos Polymeneas Liontiris (contrabass) as a special guest.

Spyros Polychronopoulos was born in 1980 in Athens. He is a composer of electro-acoustic music, he has released 15 albums and has written essays on the philosophy of music. After graduating with a degree in Physics, he completed his doctoral dissertation at the Technical University. After five years at universities in England, where he worked as a researcher, he works now at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as a researcher in physical modeling of musical instruments.

Michalis Moschoutis is an artist who explores the materiality of sound and the physicality of musical action. He regularly presents his work in venues and festivals such as: Cave12 (Geneva), Cafe OTO (London), Tectonics (Tel Aviv), Mengi (Reykjavik), Onassis Cultural Center (Athens), DeRuimte (Amsterdam) etc. At the same time he is involved in live cinema and organizes the INMUTE music and film festival. His record label Holotype Editions has released albums by major sound artists such as Jacob Kirkegaard, Lawrence English and Werner Dafeldecker. Since 2017, he has been co-curating the Athenian edition of the Tectonics Festival. Since 2018 he has been curating the Onassis Foundation’s Modern Electronic and Experimental Music Festival entitled Borderline.
