The Capital
Maria Sotiropoulou returns at KET with The Capital, a performance on acrobatic rope. The new bank downtown has clean windows, 24-hour surveillance and automatic watering in order to keep away the intruders. It is illuminated at night, it is not illuminated during the day, but it becomes one with the environment and can be found only by those who have an appointment and are ready for a new deposit of 10,000 trees.
Short bio: Maria Sotiropoulou is an illustrator, visual communication designer and artist. Her involvement with aerial acrobatics as a means of expression began in 2011. Since 2012, she has participated in performances with Eugenia Galeraki’s School at the Circus Festival, Poreia Theater and Knossos Theater. In 2015, she participated in the Influence Festival in Karditsa with the group “Deka Pano”. In 2018, she participated in the “Meetings” performance of Ermira Goro as part of the 10th Arc for Dance Festival. In September 2019 she participated in the performance “Madren vol. 3” of “OO Omicron Omega” in the framework of Our Festival. She is a member of the “BEMF” team, which created the video “Messaritikos”, selected by the Athens Video Dance Project in 2018. With the “BEMF” team, they presented part of the “Two Axis” show at TedXLesvos, in the Primary School theater in Mytilene in September 2019.
