{"id":3310,"date":"2024-09-12T15:54:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T15:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polychorosket.gr\/?post_type=events&#038;p=3310"},"modified":"2024-09-23T19:25:12","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T19:25:12","slug":"like-i-broke-the-vase-en","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/polychorosket.gr\/en\/events\/like-i-broke-the-vase-en\/","title":{"rendered":"Like \/ I broke the vase"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two sets of electronic sound by the duos <strong>Like<\/strong> (Belgium) and <strong>I broke the vase<\/strong> (Greece).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A collaboration between <strong>Diana Duta <\/strong>(electronics, field recordings, voice) and <strong>Florence Cats<\/strong> (theremin, objects, voice), the experimental duo <strong>Like<\/strong> oscillates between ambient, noise, improvisation and spoken word. Active in the Brussels underground scene, Like&#8217;s projects are hosted and broadcast on international radio stations. &#8220;Like a telepath&#8221; (2023) was commissioned by the Radiophrenia festival in Glasgow and Kunst Radio in Austria. &#8220;Like a soliloqui&#8221; (2024) was presented as part of the Somewhere in between A-Z festival curated by Lumpen Art Radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/like.hotglue.me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>like.hotglue.me<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I broke the vase<\/strong>&nbsp;were formed in 2018. They create musical performances through listening, free improvisation and composition. They use musical instruments, their voices, objects, microphones, electronics, recordings and loops. Writing and reading of autoethnographic texts, participation of the body, as well as interaction with the space and the environment lie at the center of their work. Being also musicologists and sound researchers, apart from performers, they employ practices such as soundwalks and recordings of listening experiences, while experimenting through feminist and caring artistic processes. Moreover, I broke the vase have created video performances, the experimental film&nbsp;<em>The Greatest Love of All<\/em>,and a podcast dedicated to the women in electronic music, entitled&nbsp;<em>Silence is Broken<\/em>. They have also coordinated the workshop&nbsp;<em>Sonic Memorabilia&nbsp;<\/em>and the awarded by Thessaloniki Film Festival podcast by the same name. They have been artists in residence at Syros Sound Meetings and in University of Michigan. They participated in&nbsp;<em>Tectonics Athens Festival<\/em>, in&nbsp;<em>Electric Nights Festival<\/em>, in&nbsp;<em>Eclectic Tech Carnival Athens<\/em>, in&nbsp;<em>IF 2021<\/em>, in&nbsp;<em>\u039ailymeia 23<\/em>, in&nbsp;<em>Ametric Festival<\/em>&nbsp;and also in&nbsp;<em>Pl\u00e1smata: Bodies, Dreams, and Data<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Sheltered Gardens<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Down to Earth<\/em>&nbsp;exhibitions and in&nbsp;<em>2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Ibrokethevase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>www.facebook.com\/Ibrokethevase<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two sets of electronic sound by the duos Like (Belgium) and I broke the vase (Greece).
