“Chants to the Moon” <\/strong>is a dialogue of breath and stillness, voice and vibration, shadow and light \u2014 a duet by Marissa Billi<\/strong> and Barry Yuk Bun Wan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be preceded by a solo set by Barry Yuk Bun Wan entitled “Human Soul”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd37 \u201cChants to the moon\u201d \u2013 Marissa Bili & Barry Wan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marissa Bili<\/strong>, whose artistry moves between classical precision and the boundless freedom of improvisation, shapes her voice into fragile echoes and luminous threads\u2014woven through clarinet, loops, resonances, and extended colors. Barry Wan<\/strong>, responds with shifting soundscapes of samplers, sound objects, shakuhachi, otamatone, singing bowls, and gesture-controlled electronics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together they trace the contours of silence, unfolding sound like petals beneath the moon. Their improvisation evokes the essence of wabi-sab\uff08\u4e09\u6cd5\u5370): beauty in impermanence, presence in absence, fullness within emptiness. Voice and resonance dissolve into one meditative current\u2014inviting the audience into a space where listening becomes a quiet form of contemplation, and where every vibration fades gently into the stillness of night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd36 \u201cHuman Soul\u201d \u2013 Barry Wan<\/strong> (solo set)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A meditative journey into the Human Soul\u2014the dwelling of consciousness, emotion, and personal essence. Guided by Taoist principles, this solo unfolds as a comprovisation: a structured sonic framework flows beneath live improvisation, creating a dialogue between the fixed and the spontaneous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using samplers, sound objects, shakuhachi, otamatone, singing bowls, and gesture-controlled electronics, Wan sculpts a living soundscape that mirrors the natural rhythms of life\u2014fluid, cyclical, and ever-changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each sound, each resonance, is fleeting\u2014like a thought passing, a ripple on water, or the shimmer of sunlight through leaves\u2014inviting listeners into a reflective space where presence and perception merge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd37 Marissa Bili<\/strong> is a voice artist whose work spans between performance and composition. She studied classical singing at the State Conservatory of Tyrol in Innsbruck. After her studies, she focused on free vocal improvisation, extended vocal techniques, and vocal traditions from around the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 “Autumn Youth” (directed by Anthi Founta \u2013 All of Greece, One Culture)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 and the vocal compositions for “Faust” (directed by Aris Biniaris \u2013 National Theater of Greece).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd36 Barry Yuk Bun Wan<\/strong> (Hong Kong, 1983) is a Czech-based composer, sonic artist, guitarist, and versatile musician whose works span diverse genres and media, performed internationally across the USA, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has received numerous awards, including First Prize at Musica Nova 2018, and has been featured at prominent festivals and symposiums such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
