{"id":4854,"date":"2026-04-20T07:49:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T07:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polychorosket.gr\/?post_type=events&#038;p=4854"},"modified":"2026-04-25T19:24:26","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T19:24:26","slug":"saladefriday-in-athens-2-en","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/polychorosket.gr\/en\/events\/saladefriday-in-athens-2-en\/","title":{"rendered":"SaladeFriday in Athens: Hajj, Moughanni, Kourtesi, lookmaitmoves"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The<strong>\u00a0SaladeFriday<\/strong>\u00a0project was founded in Beirut in 2021 by Lebanese musician<strong>\u00a0Akram Hajj<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is organized in various European cities, with the aim of bringing together musicians from Lebanon\u2019s experimental and underground scene with artists from other countries and other artistic backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the explosion at the port of Beirut and Lebanon\u2019s economic crisis, many musicians were forced to leave the country, seeking new places where they could live, create, and prosper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In their original form, these gatherings combined improvisational music with a private dinner\u2014each participant brought a fruit or vegetable of their choice, and the host mixed them together to make an improvised salad. The title of the project derives from this practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After small events in Cairo, Alexandria, Italy, and Switzerland,&nbsp;<strong>SaladeFriday<\/strong>&nbsp;found an almost permanent home in Paris, between the Middle Eastern diaspora and the local scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second SaladeFriday hosted by KET features <strong>Akram Hajj <\/strong>(percussion, electronics), <strong>Joy Moughanni <\/strong>(electronics), <strong>Vanessa Kourtesi<\/strong> (vocals), and <strong>lookmaitmoves <\/strong>(live visuals).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd37 Lebanese musician and drummer <strong>Akram Hajj<\/strong> became widely known as a member of the post-rock band Kinematik. His solo work combines acoustic percussion, pedals, and a mixer without inputs, creating an electroacoustic, industrial, and atmospheric sound known as Daf-Noise. He lives in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd37<strong>  Joy Moughanni <\/strong>is a Beirut-based producer, engineer, and songwriter, as well as a partner at Tunefork Studios. As a sought-after production collaborator in Beirut\u2019s alternative scene, producing several albums with regional and international artists. Joy\u2019s work explores sound in relational contexts and archives, drawing from his architectural studies and spatial sonic installations. Recently, he has been sonically exploring themes of personal and political manipulation through his debut solo album \u201cA Separation From Habit\u201d Voted #48 on The Quietus 2025 Album of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd37 Musician, composer-songwriter, and singer <strong>Vanessa Kourtesi <\/strong>draws inspiration from the traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean, improvisation, ambient music, and jazz. In 2022, she released an EP, and in 2023, an album with the band Merem. Her first solo album is set to be released in 2026. She is a graduate of Codarts (Rotterdam) and the Voice Study Center \u2013 University of Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd37 <strong>Cynthia-\u00ebl Hasbani <\/strong>(aka\u00a0<strong>lookmaitmoves<\/strong>) is a Beirut-born Berlin-based media artist.
